Try to install FFDShow, enable MPEG-2 decoding and DVD playback in settings.

Thanks for your indications Roman, but after I install FFDShow and enable MPEG-2 decoding (don't find DVD playback setting) the situation is similar: DVD player don't work for me.:(

If you have other indications please let me know.

FFDShow video decoder, MPEG-2 codec settings, contains DVD playback checkbox.

Finally I saw the checkbox for DVD decoding (same row with MPEG2 - under the horizontal grid scroll) and now works.
I made some additional settings with FFV and FFA :) and now works all the stuff well.
In FFv:
- in tab Codecs > MPEG2 decoder: Intel QuickSync > check DVD decoding
- in tab Intel QuickSync > check Enable DVD decoding
- uncheck tab Vizualizations
- check tab Resize & Aspect > check Resize > check Specify orizontal size
In FFa:
- in tab Output > uncheck Dolby Digital (AC3) > check Dolby Digital Plus (E-AC3)

Thanks again!

Hi all,
I was having the same error message so I installed FFDShow on a window 7 PC.
In the configuration shortcuts I see
* Configuration
* VFW Configuration

If I run the "VFW Configuration", I see a dialog with 2 tabs: Encoder and Decoder.
In the "Decoder" tab, if "Codec" is selected on the left, a list of supported codecs is displayed on the right. I then scroll down to the line beginning with "MPEG2" and select "libmpeg2" instead of disabled in for the "Decoder" field.
Is that the way MPEG-2 decoding is enabled ?
I see no "DVD playback" checkbox in the screen shot of the dialog: http://ubuntuone.com/7XtOVvptFLQwSzLPlzpfny

Any info on what I did wrong would be greatly appreciated.
Regards.

Indeed Roman,
I switched from the older version to ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net and the decoding checkbox is there.
Thank you.
